IDS5 Software features to
meet the information management needs of airport management and
operations customers. IDS5-AIM Serves:
- Airport Operations Centers
- Ramp Control
- Emergency Management
IDS5-AIM is a system of
workstations connected by a communications network to distribute
and display static and real-time data throughout the work
environment sharing a common set of display pages (screens of
information). The IDS5-AIM communication system provides rapid
distribution of data from several sources to all workstations on
the system. The alert system provides users with visual and/or
audible alerts to changes in critical information, as determined
by local administrators.
IDS5-AIM also provides the capability of sharing and exchanging
data between various types of organizations. For example, IDS5-AIM
interfaces ACE-IDS and IDS4 systems for bi-directional
information exchange. Both facilities would determine which
pages of information would be “shared” between the two
facilities and the information would be available
bi-directionally.
IDS5-AIM software is completely customizable for each facility
and/or each workstation. For example, data displayed on a
911-dispatch workstation can also be displayed at an EOC
workstation in its entirety or only portions of it along with
ATC data, weather data, etc.
IDS5-AIM software integrates data into the pages from multiple
sources, such as, reference materials, manual entries, external
systems, imports, etc. Data is “embedded” into the IDS5-AIM
page, virtually eliminating the long process of loading large
documents, images, diagrams, etc.
IDS5-AIM can be configured to receive information from FAA
sources such as: runways in use, graphical weather products,
text based weather products, wind shear data, runway visual
range, altimeter, and official time source. Displaying real-time
data from these systems through IDS5-AIM eliminates the need for
multiple displays, freeing space at the user’s console and
creating a single focal point for obtaining information.
