Information Sharing Within an Emergency Operation Center

IDS5 provides an Emergency Operations Center (EOC) with the ability to store, share, manipulate and disseminate information throughout a local area network (LAN). Each entity within an EOC receives instant access to different types of information while also having instant access to the same data. In addition, each individual entity is able to maintain and update the information they are responsible for. That information is immediately transmitted throughout the IDS5 network to all other entities required. This type of data dissemination ensures everyone has the “big picture,” allowing for more efficient and effective operational control during emergency situations.

Multi-Agency Emergency Operations

Not only does IDS5 allow for data dissemination within the EOC network, it can also interface with other IDS5 networks deployed in multiple locations.

Because IDS5 allows locally developed information (e.g., status reports, maps, weather information, et al) to be disseminated throughout a wide area network (WAN) across a large geographic area, EOCs can share information with local area 911 dispatch facilities, fire departments and hospitals. This two-way communication between IDS5 systems enables the EOC and other facilities involved to more effectively maintain and manage a city, state or nationwide emergency.

IDS5 in the Field

When the nature or location of an emergency requires the use of a Mobile Command Center (MCC), all of the information located at the fixed facility must readily available for deployment. IDS5 provides full mobile capability that allows the entire database of information to be easily relocated as needed.

IDS5’s distributed database continuously updates each workstation (fixed and mobile) as information changes. When necessary, mobile IDS5 devices are relocated with the MCC to the emergency location. All of the data within IDS5 remains whether it is connected to a network or not.

The use of Wi-Fi and 3/4G technology ensures IDS5 stays connected to the home or “base” network while a signal exists. This enables the transmission of up-to-date information to and from the on-scene personnel, the MCC, the EOC and all other connected facilities.
